Sharing God's Love
Prayers for our community and those in need
Loving God, You are always more ready to hear than we are to pray and give more than either we desire or deserve. We bring these prayers confident of the justice of Your answers.
We pray for those in our Church family who are experiencing ill health, anxiety, problems at school or work, or difficult family situations - we ask that they know your love, comfort and strength, and that we their neighbours will know how to be the body of Christ for them.
Lord, forgive our hesitations in life. Give us courage to walk through open doors and to step over new thresholds into the unknown. Help us to embrace new experiences. Thank you that, when we walk in step with you, our anxieties are shed, our trust deepens and our world is transformed. Thank you for your loving grace. Amen.
God of challenge and change, God of comfort and consistency: reshape our worship from focus on self to a true celebration of your love; reawaken our commitment to learn and care from easy complacency to sacrificial support; revitalise our service from loving ourselves to loving our neighbours; revive our evangelism from simply following Jesus to making more followers of Jesus; as you have called us, so we pray you will commission us. In the name of Jesus and in the power of the Sprit. Amen.
We pray for Your guidance when we think about the use of our gifts of time, energy and money; help us to see how these precious resources shared by our Church family can be used to fulfil our vision of a Church caring for each other and our neighbours, and sharing the Good News.
We pray for the Church in Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, and South Africa, for the Bolton & Rochdale District, and for the Hinckley Circuit.
Help us to face the future with courage and assurance, knowing that nothing can ever part us from Your love. Lord Jesus we offer these prayers in Your name. AMEN
