The start of the building work

Members gathered  on the forecourt on Sunday October 25th to see the Mayor of Marlow, Cllr Richard Scott cut the ribbon for the new building development.

The new building will have a café which will be open five days a week, new toilets and kitchen, refurbished meeting rooms and a large new porch linking the Church with the hall.

Project Leader David Duxbury, who has spearheaded the project from its inception three years ago, has dealt with many challenges along the way: “This is an exciting project,” he says, “and we have seen it develop from the concept stage to the point where building work can begin. Everyone involved has worked very hard, not least the fundraising team who have made it all possible. We have received many generous grants and donations and are very grateful.”

Cllr Richard Scott said he was “delighted to attend a ‘real’ event and witness the beginning of an exciting project in Covid times”.

It’s hoped the building will be completed next Spring.
